Filmmaker | Animator | Photographer
At the University of Texas in Austin, Blas continued his film studies. Becoming the go-to guy in his circle for anything relating to editing or 2D animation, Blas always dedicates 100% to the quality of work he creates.
It was in his senior year of college that Blas’ passion for journalism was rekindled. Starting out as a videographer at The Daily Texan, he was quickly promoted to the Multimedia Associate Editor position, where he helped the Editor lead the department to a successful year.
Blas used his skills in camerawork, storytelling, and strong leadership to create inspiring news stories and pass on those skills to the rest of the videographers.
Shortly after graduating with his Bachelors of Science in Film, Blas decided to continue his studies with a Masters degree in Multimedia Journalism. During this time, Blas has managed his video game blog.
Newbie Gamer is a blog created to report on all things gaming and as an outlet for the latest developments in the gaming culture.
Currently Blas works at Wieck Media as part of the editorial support team. He is known as the “video guy” at Wieck and manages live streaming events for clients. He is also a freelance writer for ThatVideoGameBlog.com. His animation work has recently been featured in the feature-length documentary, “The Beat Hotel“, which has had international success and is now making its way through festivals in the U.S.
